Academic Programs connects undergraduate institutions, faculty, and students across the country to the work of the American Enterprise Institute (AEI) and the broader public policy world. The Academic Programs intern is responsible for supporting the planning and execution of program events at AEI and on college campuses, compiling internal surveys, and aiding the team in preparation for the 2026 Summer Honors Program. Other responsibilities might include researching college campuses, managing databases, and providing logistical support for events hosted in Washington, DC, and virtually.
Strong candidates will demonstrate familiarity with and an appreciation for AEI, strong communication and interpersonal skills, and an interest in today’s pressing public policy issues. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, report writing, social media, and database management is preferred but not necessary.
About AEI Internships
AEI internships offer a unique opportunity for undergraduates, graduate students, and recent graduates to gain experience in research, writing, business, and communications at one of the nation’s leading think tanks. Competitive candidates will generally have a GPA of 3.5 or higher from a top-ranking college or university. AEI’s internship program runs for 12 weeks and all related programming will take place in Washington, DC. Please see the internship program home page for additional information about the program.
The start dates for the spring program are: January 13th and January 20th.
