Overview

The American Enterprise Institute (AEI) seeks an intern to assist bestselling author and columnist Jonah Goldberg, who writes on US politics and culture as a senior fellow in AEI’s Social, Cultural, and Constitutional Studies department. One of the most prominent conservative political commentators today, Mr. Goldberg frequently appears on television and the radio, and his syndicated columns are circulated widely across the country.

The intern will conduct research on a wide range of policy-related topics to assist Mr. Goldberg with his columns, lectures, and media appearances. The intern will also assist with the production of Mr. Goldberg’s podcast, “The Remnant with Jonah Goldberg,” and coedit “The G-File,” his twice-weekly newsletter for The Dispatch.

In addition to primarily supporting Mr. Goldberg’s work, the intern will provide limited research and administrative assistance for other SCCS scholars who specialize in American history and culture. The ideal candidate will possess strong research, editing, organizational, and writing skills, along with a demonstrated interest in US politics, history, culture, and the media.

The start dates for the summer program are May 27 and June 3. While the AEI Internship Program and all related programming will take place in-person in Washington, DC this summer, virtual interns may be accepted on a case by case basis. Please include your preferred start date and note your in-person/virtual preference in your cover letter.  Please note that a cover letter and writing sample are both required, in order for your application to be considered complete.
