Overview

The Critical Threats Project, led by Frederick W. Kagan, tracks and analyzes current and emerging challenges to American national security, particularly through regular open-source intelligence updates. Interns on the Middle East portfolio will support analysis of the ongoing Israel-Hamas war, Iran’s Axis of Resistance, and Iranian regional activities and domestic politics. Interns will be responsible for media monitoring and analysis, research, and intelligence collection.

 

Interested candidates should demonstrate strong writing and analytical skills and the ability to independently research and work on a team. Initiative, dedication to the project’s mission, an excellent work ethic, and creativity are highly valued. The ability to read and conduct research in Arabic, Hebrew, or Persian is highly desired but not required. Please include your weekly availability for the position in your cover letter. Summer CTP internships begin on May 28, 2024.

 

While the AEI Internship Program and all related programming will take place in-person in Washington, DC this spring, virtual interns may be accepted on a case by case basis. Please include your in-person/virtual preference in your cover letter.
